Water Sports FAQs

Where Do Water Sports Trips Start?

Our hub is in Lakeside, Pokhara, Nepal's thrill-seeker's haven. We orchestrate all our excursions from our primary location, nestled conveniently in Lakeside Center, along the prominent Baidam Road.

Joining from Kathmandu?

Yes, you can! Activities like our Trisuli River Rafting can be joined from Kathmandu. We arrange tourist bus transport to the starting point, where our team will greet you. If Pokhara isn't your end destination, we arrange local bus transport. Specific schedules can change, so we verify the exact details during our pre-departure briefings.

Trip from Kathmandu to Pokhara?

Absolutely! Trisuli River offers an amazing detour via raft or kayak from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Note: our operations are based in Pokhara, and as such, that’s where our staff and private vehicles operate from. Starting from Kathmandu? We'll coordinate a tourist bus for you. Fancy a private transport upgrade? That's available for an additional fee.

Trip from Pokhara to Kathmandu?

Certainly! Some expeditions conclude midway between Pokhara and Kathmandu, including Trisuli & Lower Seti Rafting and Canyoning. It's an excellent chance to switch the bus ride for an adventure. As our operations and resources are stationed in Pokhara, ending in Kathmandu means we’ll assist you onto a local bus (fare covered by us) for the final leg of your journey. Private transport is available for an extra charge.

Concerned About Swimming Skills?

No worries! We equip you with certified PFDs (personal flotation devices) and train you in essential “whitewater swim” techniques. Our vigilant safety kayakers ensure quick rescues. We offer a spectrum of trips catering to all excitement levels. Be candid about your swimming proficiency so we can match you with the perfect adventure.

Understanding River Classes

Rapid grades, determined by water dynamics and technical challenges, range from I-II (mild, straightforward waves) up to V (intense, potentially daunting, and necessitating expert navigation). Class V is the pinnacle of what we offer in Nepal, reserved for seasoned guides. Note: Nature dictates the outdoors, and conditions can vary.

What’s on the Menu?

Pride in our culinary skills means you enjoy a blend of Western and Nepali cuisine, with both vegetarian and meat-based dishes. Breakfast is hearty, lunch is a diverse buffet, and dinner combines everything from pasta to local delicacies, all served with a side of breathtaking nature.

Dietary Restrictions?

We cater to vegetarians with dedicated meal preparation. For gluten-free diets, we strive to provide suitable options. However, carrying extra snacks is recommended. Remember to state your dietary preferences when booking.

River Cleanliness?

While not pristine, our rivers are safe for swimming. You won’t need to worry about illness from brief recreational exposure.

Footwear Recommendations?

Sport sandals that secure firmly are ideal for rafting and kayaking. Canyoning adventures come with specialized booties.

Handling Your Luggage

We supply stuff sacks for your river essentials, safeguarding them in water-resistant bags. Valuables get extra protection in our nearly indestructible cases. Unneeded luggage stays secure back at our Pokhara base.

Physical Fitness Requirements?

Basic fitness is advisable. Certain rivers demand more vigorous participation. Transparency regarding any health conditions ensures we match you with the right adventure.

Campfires on the Trip?

We endeavor to provide campfires, but environmental and local considerations sometimes prevent this. Sustainability is a core value.

Why Choose Us Despite Higher Costs?

Quality doesn’t come cheap. We invest in premier equipment, skilled professionals, and safety, ensuring an unparalleled experience. Aren’t you worth that investment?

Payment Procedures?

We request a 25% deposit, payable in USD or local currency, with various convenient methods available. Final payments are handled locally, with online or credit card options incurring a 5% surcharge.

What’s Included and What to Bring?

Each trip is unique. Please refer to the specific inclusions, exclusions, and recommended packing list on our trip pages. Remember, smart packing is key for outdoor adventures.

Advance Bookings?

Advance bookings aid in trip planning and reaching participant quotas, but aren’t mandatory. Cancellation policies apply to ensure fairness.

Cancellation and Insurance?

Our 25% deposit is non-refundable, underscoring the importance of trip insurance. Paddle Nepal doesn’t provide participant insurance, but it’s a prerequisite for joining. We do fully insure our staff.

Tipping Protocol?

Tipping isn’t obligatory but is a cherished compliment to our staff’s effort. Online reviews also support and motivate our team.

Concerns About Weight Limits?

Our PFDs are rated for individuals up to 95kg, complying with international safety standards. Your adventure awaits, regardless of your body type.
