The Budi Gandaki River is a part of the Gandaki River in Nepal. It starts from the snowy slopes of Mt. Manaslu, which is one of the tallest mountains in the world. Many people who love adventure choose to raft on the Budi Gandaki River because it's exciting, even though it can be tough due to its strong currents and its location in a faraway place called the Gorkha district.
Rafting on the Budi Gandaki River is a thrilling experience as you travel through cold waters until you reach where it joins with the Marshyandi and Trishuli rivers. Only a few companies run rafting trips on this river because it's quite challenging.
To start your adventure, you'll take a beautiful half-day drive from Kathmandu or Pokhara to get to a place called Arughat Bazaar. There, you'll get ready for your rafting trip with the help of experienced guides. The rafting journey itself usually lasts about three hours.
You can choose how long you want your rafting trip to be, ranging from one night and two days to three nights and four days, ending at a place called Similar. This package allows you to conquer three famous rivers in Nepal: the Budi Gandaki, Trishuli, and Marshyangdi.
Along the way, you'll see amazing views of the Himalayas, charming villages, different animals, and lots of plants. You'll start in the highlands and gradually go down to the lowland hills and villages.
During the rafting trip, you'll encounter both calm waters and fast rapids, which will make your adventure exciting and unpredictable. You'll stay in tents set up along the riverbank, which will give you a memorable experience surrounded by nature.
If you want to go on this rafting trip, you need to organize it with a group of at least four people. Prices can change depending on how many people are in your group. To get the best deals and options for joining a group, it's a good idea to contact the organizers ahead of time.
Whether you're someone who's been rafting many times before or if it's your first time, going on the Budi Gandaki River will give you an unforgettable experience exploring Nepal's beautiful landscapes and wild waters.
